Culture24 receives Culture Recovery Fund grant

We are #HereForCulture

Culture24 has received a grant of £101,245 from the Government’s £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund to help the organisation recover and reopen. We are one of thousands of cultural organisations across the country to receive more than £300 million in the latest round of support from the Culture Recovery Fund.

This is the first time we have applied for CRF funding and we are grateful that this much needed help is coming at a crucial time for us. The investment will allow us to build on the opportunities digital provision affords us to develop a more robust and fit-for-purpose operational model for our service delivery. It will enable us to explore ways to scale up and re-package our expertise and services in sustainable ways. It will also help us realise our plans to develop our own organisational capacity, allowing us to extend and respond to the growing demand in specialist knowledge services across the UK and internationally.

We will carry out technical improvements on our Show Me website enabling us to highlight and promote the swathe of evergreen content that has been created by museums for children, over lockdown. We will also refresh our Digital Pathways website, responding to the unexpected level of new sector-facing resources created during the pandemic.

Since lockdown Culture24 has pivoted our services from in-person to online, beginning with our Arts Council England-supported sector support programme of workshops, leadership consultancies and learning modules. As restrictions continued we took all our other projects online, including Let’s Get Real and our international consultancies.

Looking ahead, the CRF funding has given us the space to develop training content to focus on transition, supporting cultural organisations to understand the impact of digital activity and decisions during Covid and their digital needs as they plan for a more sustainable future.

Culture24 is one of a handful of organisations with the proven digital expertise critically needed to help museums and arts organisations adapt and develop their digital capacity. As the world changes and challenges continue to pile up, this funding will help us create new opportunities to develop the sector’s digital confidence, skills and literacies.
