Services

Culture24 is a non-profit digital cultural publisher. We connect, communicate and create, with the aim of supporting cultural organisations to reach online audiences. Whether you’re a cultural organisation looking to raise your profile or from another sector altogether and need cultural content, data or connections, we can help if you:

* want to add your venue, collection and listings information to our database

* want to reach out to culture-loving audiences online

* want to connect or work with the thousands of museums, galleries, archives, libraries and heritage sites within our network

* are a publisher or aggregator looking for rich and authoritative cultural listings.

Editorial

Culture24 has been publishing arts and heritage news, features and reviews for millions of online readers since 2001 on www.culture24.org.uk. We cover the national venues and their blockbusters but just as importantly give voice to the thousands of smaller museums, galleries, archives, libraries and heritage sites battling for profile online.

Our staff writers and editors are NCTJ trained journalists and all share a love of culture – a combination that enables us to create clear and engaging copy for a range of audiences.

Culture24 offers two key editorial services, editorial commissions (strategy and content creation) and partner journalism internships (we recruit and manage a paid intern to support your project).

Data sharing

Our database is one of the most comprehensive data sets of its kind in the UK, packed with all you would ever need to know about places to go, the latest listings, top-notch resources and lots more.

We currently share a bit of everything in our database – whether it has come from venues directly via our DDE (Direct data entry) system or has been written by Culture24 staff or volunteers. The data consists of geolocated, subject-tagged and sometimes curriculum-tagged information about over 5000 cultural venues around the UK – museums, galleries, heritage sites, archives, historic houses, science centres and others.

Campaign support

There are many ways in which Culture24 can support national, local and regional campaigns. These include – communication with the cultural sector; editorial commissions; event registrations and aggregation and data sharing.

Sector communications: Our monthly network newsletter goes out to over 4,000 cultural sector professionals. We can include brief features and links about your campaign or marketing initiative to tell museums, galleries, libraries, archives and heritage sites about upcoming campaigns.

Editorial: Our team of qualified journalists can write news, features, interviews and other articles about your campaign. We can develop a range of editorial formats and responses and ahre them on a rnage of social networks.

Event registration: Our database can be used to register and aggregate events, exhibitions or resources, which can be tagged to your campaign title and then shared through RSS, SOAP or OAI feeds. These listings can be used to populate your website.

Datasharing: At Culture24 we’ve been collecting and publishing information from and about UK museums, galleries, archives and other cultural venues for over ten years. Our database is packed with all you would ever need to know about places to go, the latest listings, top-notch resources and lots more.

Cost of campaign support: Our charges vary according to the scale and nature of your campaign and your organisation. As we use our existing aggregation and publishing infrastructure we are able to support arts and heritage-related initiatives at extremely competitive rates.
